Report on Cooperation within the Framework of the “Academic Mobility” Program at the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University

On February 23, 2026, within the framework of the program of mutual cooperation and exchange of experience between Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and South Kazakhstan Medical Academy (SKMA), the Academic Mobility Program officially commenced.

In accordance with this program, experienced senior lecturers of the Department of Chemical Disciplines, Biology, and Biochemistry of SKMA — Kaliya Kudaikulovna Yerkekulova and Aigul Zhadigerbekovna Daripbek — arrived on an official two-week academic visit to the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics from February 23 to March 7, 2026.

On the first day of the program implementation (February 23, 2026), the following activities were carried out:

The Head of the Department, A. Zh. Moldakaryzova, introduced the guests to the faculty members. In addition, the visiting lecturers became acquainted with the department’s material and technical resources, as well as with the main areas of scientific research.

The university’s educational standards, course syllabi, assessment criteria, and digital platforms used in the educational process were discussed. An exchange of views took place regarding the specific features of teaching methodologies employed at the two higher education institutions.

Starting from the first day of the Academic Mobility Program, senior lecturers K. K. Yerkekulova and A. Zh. Daripbek began conducting practical classes for students in accordance with the approved schedule. The classes were delivered in a lecture-practical format with the application of modern interactive teaching methods.

It is expected that during the planned two-week period, the lecturers will not only engage in professional experience exchange but also provide students with in-depth instruction on current issues in molecular biology and genetics. The implementation of this program will contribute to strengthening cooperation between two leading medical universities and enhancing the quality of the educational process.
