In accordance with the educational work direction of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics, as well as Sustainable Development Goal (SDG-6), an event titled “Familiarization with the ‘SAMAL’ Water Production Plant” was organized on March 17, 2025.

The event was attended by faculty members of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics, T. G. Taneeva and K. E. Zhuzzhan, as well as students of the “Medicine” program from groups M24-001 and M24-002.
The main objective of the event was to familiarize students with environmental protection issues, the importance of clean drinking water resources, their rational use, sanitation, the promotion of sustainable water management, and raising awareness about the ways and significance of water conservation.
During the event, the plant’s manager, Gulnur Azhetova, introduced students to the history and key activities of the “SAMAL” plant, as well as its water purification methods. The students had the opportunity to observe the water purification process firsthand, which left a positive impression on them.
In the plant’s laboratory, students learned about the stages of water purification using modern technologies and explored the composition of drinking water.
At the final stage of the event, students shared their impressions. They realized that for future doctors, the high quality of drinking water plays a crucial role in the prevention of various chronic diseases.
