On October 11, 2018 on the basis of the University clinic №2 employees of the Department of internal diseases №1 held a Round table on the topic: “Modern management of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.” The moderator of the Round table was Professor Emeritus of KazNMU Atsumasa Komori (Nagasaki medical center, Japan).
The interest of gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, cardiologists to non-alcoholic fat disease as a multidisciplinary problem is associated with an increase in the incidence of this nosology, unresolved issues of prevention and effective treatment.
At the Round table with reports on modern ideas about the pathogenesis of NAFLD, promising methods of treatment, clinical and laboratory features of the disease were the staff of the Department of internal diseases №1: prof.. Doc. Zubova N. In. ass. Serkbay S. S.
The round table was attended by teachers of the Department of endocrinology, internal medicine №1, pharmacology, OVP№1, doctors of the criminal code№2, as well as residents of endocrinology, students of 4 and 5 courses of specialty “General medicine”. The presented material aroused great interest among students, teachers and doctors. The round table ended with a lively discussion.
In conclusion, Prof. Komori focused the attention of the audience on the need for screening of patients with metabolic syndrome for liver damage, which will allow timely adequate therapy and reduce the risk of advanced stages of NAFLD. As emphasized by the Professor, the basis for the treatment of NAFLD is the correction of manifestations of metabolic syndrome and lifestyle changes.
