On March 13, 2026, at 15:30, in Room 506, 37A Zhetoksan Street, under the guidance of the lecturers of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics, I.K. Nurpeisova and S.B. Erkhanova, a faculty-level festive event “The Giant of Folk Poetry – Zhambyl Zhabaev” was held, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet and master of aitys, Zhambyl Zhabaev.
The event was organized by students of the mentoring groups M25-005-006k and M25-015-016k.
The main objective of the event was to promote the creative legacy of the great poet, an outstanding representative of the aitys art, Zhambyl Zhabaev, to cultivate respect for national spirit and cultural values through his poems and verses, and to stimulate students’ interest in Zhambyl’s heritage while encouraging in-depth study of his works.
During the event, students presented an informative presentation dedicated to the life and creative work of Zhambyl Zhabaev. The presentation emphasized that his poems have become an invaluable treasure of national poetry, reflecting the sorrows and joys of the people. It was also highlighted that during difficult periods in history, including wartime, Zhambyl’s works uplifted the spirit of the nation, fostered a sense of unity, courage, and love for the homeland, and became an important spiritual heritage. Students effectively conveyed these ideas to the audience through recitations of excerpts from the poet’s works.
In Kazakh spiritual culture, poetry and music occupy a special place. Accordingly, during the event, the musical piece “Adai”, recognized as a jewel of Kazakh musical art, was performed, creating a profound emotional impact on the audience and faculty members.
The next stage of the event was an educational quiz aimed at assessing knowledge about the life and creative work of Zhambyl Zhabaev. The quiz questions covered various aspects of the poet’s biography and heritage. Participants actively responded to the questions, and audience members who gave correct answers were awarded small prizes. The quiz generated significant interest and provided positive emotions to the audience.
Following the quiz, another musical performance was presented, accompanied by a video material utilizing modern technologies. The video featured Zhambyl Zhabaev’s poetry rendered in his own voice through artificial intelligence, which attracted special attention from the audience and was received with great respect.
One of the most remarkable moments of the event was a theatrical performance depicting the youth of Zhambyl Zhabaev. The production artistically portrayed the path of the future poet, who, overcoming life’s hardships through talent and perseverance, became an outstanding personality and elevated Kazakh poetry to the pinnacle of national art.
After the performance, one of the students delivered a monologue with patriotic content, conveying Zhambyl Zhabaev’s guidance to future generations. This performance evoked strong emotional responses in the audience and inspired a sense of national pride.
In the concluding remarks, the Head of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics, A.Zh. Moldakaryzova, the department lecturer, Q.A. Tarakova, and the educational work methodologist, Assistant Professor G.T. Taneeva, addressed the audience. They noted that the event had left a profound impression on them, highly appreciated the students’ creative engagement, and expressed gratitude for their ability to combine art and knowledge effectively.
