On April 24, 2024, the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics as part of School of General Medicine-1 held the International Student Olympiad in the discipline “Medical Genetics”. The event was attended by 103 students from two countries -Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan.
Universities that participated in the Olympiad, for example,from Kazakhstan: West Kazakhstan Medical University named after M. Ospanov, Semey Medical University, Astana Medical University, KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, from Uzbekistan: Samarkand State Medical University, Tashkent Medical Academy.
The Olympiad was held in 2 rounds in three languages (Kazakh, Russian, English) on the Zoom platform.

For the Kazakh group:
- I place – Dauletkhanova Aruzhan Rustemkyzy Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov
- 2nd place – Maratov Arna Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov

For the Russian group:
