According to the ten-day celebration of Nauryznama, March 20 is designated as “National Sports Day.” When we talk about national sports, we recall national spirit, pride, history, culture, and traditions. Kazakh national sports are an important aspect of our cultural heritage, having developed alongside the life of our people.
To promote national sports among the younger generation, the staff of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics, along with first-year Medical students, organized a sports event titled “National Sports – The Face of the Nation.” The event was inaugurated with the sacred sounds of the Kazakh dombra.
Special guests included the Dean of the “General Medicine – 1” school, S.Kh. Izmailova, and the Head of the “Physical Education” Department, O.Yu. Fadeeva, who delivered congratulatory speeches. Students actively participated and showcased their talents by reciting poems about Nauryz, performing the traditional Kara Zhorga dance, and reenacting the famous scene of Abai and Togzhan, which added a special charm to the evening.
Various national sports and games were held, including Asyk Atu, Langi Tebu, Aigoelek, and arm wrestling. At the end of the event, the most active participants and winners were awarded diplomas in recognition of their achievements.
