On 10 February 2026, N.M.Almabayeva, lecturer at the Department of Normal Physiology with Biophysics course, and students from the supervised groups Med25-017k and Med25-018k held a curatorial hour for the 95th anniversary of Mukaghali Makatayev.
Mukaghali Makatayev (1931 – 1976) was a Kazakh poet, writer and translator. Muqagali Maqataev is put on a par with such pillars of Kazakh literature as Abai and M.Auezov. Makatayev translated into the Kazakh language sonnets of W.Shakespeare, poems of Walt Whitman, Dante’s Divine Comedy, and other literary works.
Fame and recognition came to him after his death. Maqataev lived a short but bright life, leaving to his descendants an extraordinary poetry full of national color.
The poet left behind a rich legacy and is considered one of the greatest Kazakh poets of the 20th century.
