On November 18, 2025, K.E. Zhuzzhan, the curator of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics, together with first-year students of the “Medicine” specialty from groups M25-003/004, visited the Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the NAS RK Museum, the students, guided by an excursion leader, visited several exhibition halls.
During the excursion, the following sections were presented to the students:
- Paleontology Department
- Fossil remains of ancient animals and plants found on the territory of Kazakhstan;
- Models of dinosaur bones and skeletal structures;
- Samples of geological layers and information about the methods used to determine their age.
- The students received informative knowledge about the geological history of the Earth and extinct representatives of the animal world.
- Zoology Department
- Models of animals characteristic of Kazakhstan’s fauna, along with biological collections;
- Rare and endangered species;
- Informational displays describing the morphological characteristics of animals, their habitats, and their ecological importance.
- This section aroused students’ interest in biology and ecology.
- Collection of Scientific Books and Rare Publications
- Scientific works, monographs, and historical documents from the Academy’s collection;
- Rare books gathered from the personal libraries of Kazakhstani scientists;
- Valuable publications covering various fields of science.
As a result of the excursion, the students gained substantial information in the fields of paleontology, zoology, and scientific literature. The visit contributed to broadening their horizons and increasing their interest in scientific research activities.
