History of the School of General Medicine

By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 24, 2006 No. 317, the Concept of reforming medical and pharmaceutical education of the Republic of Kazakhstan was adopted. According to the adopted Concept, the training of specialists with higher medical education is provided within the framework of basic medical education in the specialty “General Medicine”. To train doctors in the specialty “General Medicine”, a state educational standard was prepared, which laid down the basic competencies of the graduate.
In 2007, the first enrollment of students was admitted to the university with a degree in General Medicine. For the implementation of new competencies in the educational process of the State compulsory education standard, the faculty “General Medicine” was created.
In 2007, the faculty were trained 1,300 students in Kazakh, Russian and English languages, as well as 52 students in the specialty “General Medicine” at the accelerated department. For the organization of the educational process in the specialty “General Medicine” by order of the rector No. 874-l dated 02.09.2007. the dean’s office of the faculty of “General Medicine” was created. DzhumashevaRakhimaTazhibaevna was appointed dean of the faculty in the period from 2007-2016.
From 2016-2020 the dean of the faculty “General Medicine” was Shopaeva Gulzhan Amangeldievna.
09/14/2020 by order No. 9 of the Board of Directors “Organizational work of NAO KazNMU named after S. D. Asfediyarov “school” General Medicine “was divided into 2 divisions:
– Schoolof General Medicine -1
– School of General Medicine -2

Acting Dean of the School “General Medicine” -1was appointed Izmailova Slu Khabibievna, who later on December 9, 2020, by the decision of the commission, passed the competition for the post of Dean of KazNMU named S. D. Asfendiyarov, School “General Medicine” – 1, supervises 1,2,3 courses. The main responsibilities of the school: coordination of the work of the dean’s office and supervised departments in three areas in science, education and practice.

School “General Medicine -1” oversees 13 departments of basic and general disciplines:
1) Normal physiology with a course in biophysics
2) Department of Histology
3) Pathological physiology
4) Departmentof the Pharmacology
5) Department of language disciplines
6) Department of General Immunology
7) Department of Microbiology, Virology
8) Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics
9) Department of Anatomy
10) Department of Biochemistry
11) Department of history of Kazakhstan and social and humanitarian disciplines
12) Department of Information and Communication Technologies
13) Department of communication skills

Mission of the School of General Medicine -1 training of highly qualified competitive specialists, capable of acting in dynamic conditions and focusing on the implementation of the state program for the development of healthcare and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the country’s innovative development, maintaining adherence to the values of KazNMU.
School “General Medicine” -1 represents professional training, career growth of students, practical application of the knowledge gained. School “General Medicine” -1 is a modern, dynamically developing, focused on training highly qualified competitive medical personnel for the health care system of Kazakhstan.
