The Department of Emergency Medical Care was organized in accordance with the SGSE-96, with the decision of the Academic Council of the Kazakh State Medical University, the order of the Rector No. 99 dated May 23, 1997. The bases of the department are the City Cardiological Center, the polyclinic of the Great Patriotic War and Stations of Emergency Medical Care №1, 3,4, 6, 7,8,10. 6 doctoral and 16 master’s dissertations were defended in the department under the guidance of Professor Turlanov K.M. Currently, the department has doctor of medical science, professors-3; candidates of medical science, Professors-3; candidates of medical science, associate professors -7, assistants -10.

International and republican congresses, scientific and practical conferences, seminars were organized with the direct participation of the professor, associate professor of the department, about 1220 articles, 958 abstracts were published in different compendiums. A textbook in the Kazakh language “Жедел жәрдем” was published, 38 teaching aids, 15 of them in the state language are used in the educational process.

In the period from 1997 to 2018, the department staff prepared the Model Program for the Emergency Medical care course, the Model Program for interns, prepared demonstration materials, models, phantoms for practical skills according to the orders of Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In May 1998, an advanced training cycle was organized for practitioners, in 1999, an advanced training course for teachers. Under the guidance of the faculty of the department conducted research work with students. From 1998, the student’s society “Esculap” has been successfully working at the department, the participants of which take an active part in the scientific life not only of the university, but also of other universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, several times becoming prize-winners of conferences (in Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Hungary). More than 1,200 Emergency Medical Care doctors of polyclinics, medical ambulatories from various regions of Kazakhstan have been trained at the department. Exit cycles were conducted in Uralsk, Taraz, Shymkent, Kyzyl-Orda and other cities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Employees of the department carried out a medical and consultative work in the basic medical institutions. Employees of the department are members of the internal audit commission, the medical control commission, the methodological councils of the Emergency Care substations, and the city cardiological center. During the existence of the department, employees have been awarded: “Excellent of Health Care”, gratitudes from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2001, 2006), Minister of Education and Science, Doctor of the Year. Professor Musaev A.T is the best teacher of Ministry of Education and Science RK.

The head of the department was the doctor of medical sciences, professor Turlanov Kuanysh Mezamgalievich since the moment of organization till 2018. He took part in the improvement of the quality of the educational process at the university by participating in the development of SGSE, model advanced training programs for teaching staff of medical and pharmaceutical educational organizations on internal diseases, emergency medical care. He is a pecialist in the field of pulmonology, cardiology, geriatrics, emergency medicine. He prepared 13 candidates of medical sciences, 6 doctors of medical sciences. Author of over 450 scientific publications. Marked with honors: “Қазақстан денсаулық сақтау ісінің үздігі”, ” Почетный работник образования”, « За заслуги в развитии науки РК», gratitudes of the President of RK (2001, 2005), the Minister of Health of RK. Doctor of the year in 2005. He was awarded the Golden Stethoscope KazNMU (1996), Honorary Diplomas of the University, Еңбек қайраткері, Алтын дәрігер.

 

From 2018–2019 academic year Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor Akhmetova Gulsim Dzhumagalievna is the acting head of the department.
