International cooperation

The international activity of the Department of Infectious and Tropical Diseases is aimed at improving the quality of education and scientific activity through the development of external relations and comprehensive integration into the world scientific and educational space.

The international activity of the department is conducted in the following directions:

–  establishment and development of cooperation with foreign organizations and educational institutions;

–  improvement of the quality of educational and scientific activities in accordance with modern world standards

–  participation in the work of international symposiums, conferences, exhibitions;

–  organization of interaction in the educational and scientific spheres of activity through agreements on

–  international cooperation development of academic mobility of teaching staff, students, residents;

–  studying and introducing the best practices of foreign universities

–  use of the international information network Intemet, etc.

Prof.Yegemberdiyeva R.A. visited the Omsk Research Institute of Natural Focal Infections for scientific research.

In 2012, within the framework of academic mobility and expansion of international relations with foreign universities, the residents of the department of AS Ashnov, Kalianbaeva GR, Konurkulkaeva LM) were trained at the University Erciyes, Каysеri city, Turkey for 3 months. The program of the training course “Infection Control in Intensive Care Units” included the study of various aspects of the most common infectious diseases and intra-infectious infections.

Activity of the department in the framework of international cooperation contributes to the organization educational and methodological research tasks in training specialists and improving skills in the field of infectious and tropical diseases, motivating students to more. Deep mastering of the specialty, and teachers to develop educational programs of integrated training courses.

In 2015, the Department of Infectious and Tropical Diseases submitted an application to WHO and was approved for the rehabilitation of the short-term educational grant of the WHO Special Program for the Research and Training of Specialties for Tropical Diseases (TDR WHO) “Strengthening Research Capacity Knowledge Management for Improving Control of Diseases” Implementation training of scientific personnel on the model of echinococcosis in Kazakhstan “(approved by WHO for funding on July 27, 2015, a letter-agreement between the WHO and KazNMU INCAcenned signed 22 on September 2015). Specialists of the Center for the Study of Echinococcosis, a cooperating CBo3 l were invited to implement the educational grant.

The main researcher prof. Duisenovoy AK, and the researcher Assoc. Bayekeeva KT created multidisciplinary team (specialists  of infectious disease, epidemiology, surgery, visual diagnostics, public health, pathological anatomy, practical health care) of 25 specialists. There was developed a plan for implementing the grant, prepared educational content organized and conducted 4 educational workshops on the following dates 20.04. .-25.4.2016, at 04.07-08.07.2016 was, 0410-08.10.2016 .3101.-09.02.2017 r.

Was signed a Memorandum of cooperation between Asfendirov KazNMU and the University of Pavia, Italy

 

Seminar within the framework of the project “Realization of training of scientific personnel on the model of echinococcosis in Kazakhstan”

 

The results of international cooperation with the University of Pavia were

  1. In 2016 – 2018 Implementation of the PhD thesis Mustapaeva A.A. on the topic “Improving the radiological diagnosis of echinococcosis” (Scientific advisers: Zholdybai Zh.Zh., Duysenova AK, Enrico Brunetti)
  2. In 2019, the approval of the topic of the PhD dissertation by G. Doszhanova on the topic “Clinical and epidemiological features of echinococcosis in vulnerable population groups (pregnant women and children) in the endemic regions of Kazakhstan” (Scientific advisers: A. Duysenova, Enrico Brunetti)
  3. Participation in the 29th International Conference of ECCMID (European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) (April 13-16, 2019)
  4. Publication of an article in the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene with an impact factor of 2.4.
  5. Implementation of the Pilot project “Early diagnosis of cystic liver echinococcosis in endemic regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (October 2019)

 

From May 13 to May 17, 2019, the head of the department is Professor A. Duysenova visited the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LUNZ) in Kaunas as part of academic mobility. Curriculum prof. Duisenova included conducting seminars and lecturing on especially dangerous, zoonotic and intestinal infections in volume. During the visit, prof. Duysenova A.K. visited the Veterinary Institute of Microbiology and Virology, where she participated in the conference “Zoonoses: epidemiology, laboratory diagnostics and prevention” with reports on “Particularly dangerous infections: plague. Epidemiology. Clinic, Diagnostics, Treatment and Prevention ”and“ Anthrax: Epidemiology. Clinic, diagnosis, treatment and prevention. ”

In July 2019, faculty members of the Department of Infectious and Tropical Diseases gained access to the resources of BMJ – the British Medical Journal. Project Name: BMJ Best practice and BMJ learning.

BMJ Best practice – Clinical Decision Support Initiative (RCC).

BMJ learning – Interactive multimedia medical education online, presents more than 600 peer-reviewed modules in 70 specialties, including infectious diseases. Provides online learning opportunities that help healthcare professionals improve their knowledge.

 

The faculty members of the department are constantly improving their knowledge in the field of infectious diseases and other related sections of medicine with BMJ certificates.

The activities of the Department of Infectious and Tropical Diseases within the framework of international cooperation contributes to the solution of educational, clinical and research problems in the implementation of the University’s Mission to train competitive specialists in preserving and improving people’s health, improving healthcare through the integration of advanced educational, scientific and medical technologies.
