On October 15th in the park “Astana Square” teachers of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics Beisenova A.Zh., Nurgalieva A.K., Dzhunusova M.Zh., and 1st year students of curated groups – 7th , 8th and 9th of the School of General Medicine held a flower-laying ceremony at the monument dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the heroine of the Great Patriotic War – M. Mametova.
The purpose of the event was to encourage future young generation to love their Motherland, awaken patriotic feelings and respect for their land and language as well as to pay tribute to the souls of soldiers who died during the war.
During this ceremony the students were involved in the sharing of the biography of Manshuk Mametova, including the facts that at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War Manshuk studied at the Alma-Ata Medical Institute and voluntarily joined the Red Army in August 1942, have participated in battles as part of the 21st Infantry Division. Students highlighted heroism of this young woman, the machine gunner Manshuk that has always distinguished herself in battles with her excellent abilities and courage. It was mentioned that awards for courage were presented to M. Mametova during the war; schools and streets were named after Mametova.
