Independence — the Free Path of My Country

On December 11, 2024, an adviser session on the topic “Independence — the Free Path of My Country”was held for group M23-019. The event was organized jointly by the Department Professor K.K. Mustafina, Associate Professor R.R. Yusupov, and adviser/assistant G.H. Askar.
In accordance with KazNMU’s academic policy aimed at developing a trilingual educational process, the event featured a public and substantive discussion-lecture by Professor of Microbiology, Virology Kamilya Mustafina, who emphasized the importance of preserving national identity, spiritual values, and fostering patriotism among youth. Associate Professor R.R. Yusupov publicly discussed with participants the importance of youth civic engagement, their role in protecting national interests, and strengthening patriotic consciousness, highlighting that the active stance of each individual is essential for building a free and independent state. Assistant and adviser G.H. Askar also gave a public explanation, detailing the significance of Kazakhstan’s independence, its historical background, and the role of youth in the formation of a free state. During the session, participants discussed the history of the December 1986 events in Almaty, when Kazakh youth protested against the appointment of Gennady Kolbin, who arrived from the RSFSR, as the head of Kazakhstan. At the conclusion, it was noted that the December 1986 events became a symbol of the struggle to protect national interests, strengthened patriotic spirit, national consciousness, and played a key role in Kazakhstan’s path to independence.
