The 2026 Constitution: Questions and Answers

On March 19, 2026, as part of its educational program, the S.R. Karynbaev Department of Normal Anatomy held an event entitled “The 2026 Constitution: Questions and Answers” with the participation of department faculty members N.B. Abirova, A.A. Balapanova, M.I. Okhanova, A.Zh. Suleimenova, Zh.T. Kelimbetova, A.K. Saidakhmetova, A. Kuatbekova, and students of the School of General Medicine. The main goal of the event was to explain to the participants the significance of a referendum as a form of direct democracy, as well as the main changes and features of the new Constitution in comparison with the previous one. The event addressed the following issues: the concept and significance of a referendum; the main provisions of the new Constitution; a comparative analysis of the old and new Constitution; and discussions of legal literacy and civic responsibility among the participants, as well as developing the ability to analyze constitutional amendments. A presentation on the main aspects of the referendum and the new Constitution was also presented. The presentation was followed by a discussion. Participants were asked questions, and the students answered them.

It was also explained that a referendum is an important tool for expressing the will of the people. Key changes to the new Constitution were discussed.

The event was interactive. The presentation, discussion, and question-and-answer session helped consolidate the participants’ knowledge.
